Scope and ContentNotes of lectures given by Henry Cline, written by John Nichols Shelley, 1804. The volume is titled on the spine as "Lectures on Surgery" and contains 394 manuscript pages. The manuscript is written mainly on the right hand pages, with additions and other notes on the left hand pages. Some of the notes on the left pages refer to comments by Sir Astley Cooper, who could have also been contributing to the lectures. There is no title page, but a contents page has been bound into the front of the volume.
There is no specific reference to John Nichols Shelley, or to the date of the lectures, in the volume itself. The volume has been rebound by the College Library (date unknown) and perhaps the area identifying Shelley was lost during this process. However, information on the author of the volume and the date is given in Plarr's "Catalogue of Manuscripts" (1928).
