DescriptionDry drug jar, probably Faenza or Castel Durante, about 1560.
Albarello drug jar with the inscription 'confetua de sena' set in a scrolled band around the middle; above, a circular cartouche surrounded by foliate scrolls and containing a male head. At the top and bottom, narrow bands of various repeating designs. Decoration in blue, yellow and green; the inscription is black on a white ground.
The latin inscription refers to conserve of senna, used as a laxative or aperient.
